Frequently Asked Questions

The first session lasts for one hour and it comprisess an in depth consultation and an acupuncture session. Fine needes will be inserted into your body. There is no pain on insertion. A feeling of deep muscle ache or distension is expected once the needle has reached its destination.This is known as D' Qi or arrival of the Qi.

A prescription for powdered herbs will also be formulated if appropriate. Or some patent medicine may be prescribed. The herbs are charged separately. The cost ranges from £6 to £30 for 10 days or 3 weeks supply.
The cost for the first session is £75.

Subsequent sessions will last 45 minutes and are charged at £70. Follow up sessions will include an acupuncture treatment - sometimes a short back massage, the application of moxa or heat lamp and your herbal prescription will be reviewed, altered or repeated.

Herbal consultations last 30 minutes and are charged at £35 plus the cost of the herbs.
The herbs cost between £30 and £40 and last for 2 to 3 weeks. Sometimes 2 different formulas will be given or a combination of pills and powders will be prescribed.The herbs will come to you via the post by recorded delivery either to your home or place of work, depending on your instructions.
Herbal powders are dissolved in hot water and drank like a tea.

For musculo-skeletal problems the session will include massage, guasha or cupping together with acupuncture, moxa or heat lamp.

The amount of sessions required will depend on the presenting condition.
A musculoskeletal presentation might take 3 to 5 sessions.
A long term chronic condition will need a minimum of 10 sessions.

Infertility, endometriosis and polycystic ovaries may require a year or more of treatment with a combination of acupuncture and herbal medicine. Acupuncture may need to be given every 2 weeks or once per month, depending on the severity of the condition.

The herbal medicine I use is in the form of concentrated powders that are easily dissolved in water and drank like a tea without the need of boiling. Very easy to take and transport.
